Keeping a relationship healthy when your partner works long or unusual hours can be difficult. Your partner is often tired and irritable, so it's tricky to keep the romance alive. I've experienced this , so I know how hard it is. I found the best way to overcome this, is firstly by talking to each other about the problem (this is important no matter what the problem is), and being understanding when your partner comes home from work.
It's hard to stay close, when you don't spend a lot of time together, so you have to make the most of the time you have. Try taking an interest in the things your partner enjoys, if he likes unwinding in front of the television, watching a game, snuggle up and watch it with him. Or pick one night a week and watch a movie together, one week your choice, the next week his, and so on. They were just a couple of suggestions.
If you still love each other and you have an imagination, rekindling the passion in your relationship, shouldn't be too hard. Remember though, this won't happen without patience and a lot of work, and there are no guarantee's. I'm not a relationships expert, but I know how much it helped me. If you have trouble communicating, you might find it easier to put it in writing.
