Legend has it that Valentine was a priest, who lived in the third century. He was put to death on February 14th 269A.D, for secretly marrying couples. Claudius the then ruler of Rome, had passed a law to stop couples from getting married, because he thought single men made better soldiers than those who were married. According to legend the first Valentines Day letter, was written by Valentine himself, while he was in prison. He apparently fell in love, with one of his jailers daughters. It's alleged that he wrote the love letter the day he died and signed it From Your Valentine.
What better time to keep the tradition, so along with the Valentines Day hearts, flowers,or chocolates, why not add a romantic love letter or poem.
